Splish Splash!

Before you watch this next video you have to start singing in your head or out loud:

"Splish splash, I was takin' a bath

Long about a Saturday night

A rub-a-dub, just relaxin' in the tub

Thinkin' everything was alright

Well, I stepped out the tub, put my feet on the floor

I wrapped the towel around me and I

Opened the door, and then I

Splish, splash... I jumped back in the bath.

Well how was I to know there was a party going on?

They was a-splishin' and a'splashin'

Reelin' with the feelin', movin' and a'groovin'

Rockin' and a'rollin', yeah."

And yes, she does splash that much each bath and the floor is soaked when she is done.

Warm Friday

What a wonderful day! It was beautiful outside with the temperatures in the 80's. Almost unheard of for Wisconsin in April. I only wish it would stay...it is supposed to be in the 50's by the end of the weekend. I keep reminding myself that it will be warm soon enough. I think it was going to sunny Florida that made me want summer and not spring.

Sarah Grace had her 9 month appointment and it went great. She is 20 lbs and 28 inches long. I told her doctor about her not wanting any more of that baby food and she just laughed and said it was fine. The only concern is she doesn't drink much because she seems to think she is too big for those bottles now! They want her drinking between 18 and 24 oz a day and she gets 18 oz on a good day. Sippy cups here we come.

With it being so nice outside, we took a bike ride. Caroline can ride by herself without training wheels while Julia can ride with training wheels, but we thought it was best for her to go in the "little car" with Sarah Grace. Sarah Grace wasn't so sure about her helmet and it was a little big on her, but she did well. We only went around the neighborhood, but it was a successful first ride.

And....she's off!!

Yes, Sarah Grace is crawling or at least getting herself around. Notice the one straight leg--because really should would rather be walking than crawling.

Watch out big girls, here I come!!

She has her 9 month appointment tomorrow and I'll update everyone with how that goes.

Happy Earth Day!

Sleep

This is a foreign word to my children as babies under 2. From the time they are about a week old until around 2 they are awful nappers. They will sleep good at night, but take little cat naps during the day because the last thing you want is to be asleep when something exciting is happening!

Each daycare asks us the same thing after they have been there for a few days--"has she always taken such short naps, even at home?" The answer is always the same "yes". Unless, they are totally exhausted the naps range from 20 minutes to a hour.

So, when I picked Sarah Grace up from day care today and she had NO morning nap and only a 20 minute afternoon nap, I knew tonight was going to be interesting.

I was getting dinner ready, she was eating a few snacks and I turned around to see this:

Bowling...take two!

What a yucky and rainy day. We thought it would be fun to try and go bowling again.
Don't worry, Brian had Julia's hand as we walked in. :)

The first game all the girls--Caroline, Julia and myself scored 78. How often would that happen?!? Pretty sad for me, but I've never been good at bowling.

Sarah had fun just watching the balls go down the ally. Julia will throw the ball down the ally and then just kind of look around for awhile. Notice the form!! Caroline is so funny because usually she jumps up and down the entire time the ball is going down the ally.

And lastly, Sarah Grace's first time bowling!

First Soccer Game

Caroline had her first soccer game today. She is playing through Brookfield Soccer and it has been a great experience for her. She is on the fireflies team and has a bright orange uniform!!

Not only did they win the game, but Caroline scored 3 goals!!

Great job Caroline!!

Great Day

What fun! Yesterday, I was fortunate enough to take a road trip down to Schaumburg, IL with two good friends for a little (OK, a lot) of shopping, laughs and fun. This has been an annual trip for the last 3 years and I can't wait until next year.

While I was off shopping, Brian was great and took the day off to spend it with the kids. He took them to Betty Brinn Children's Museum. They love going there and it is a great way to spend the day. Grandma Weber came along and got to experience it for the first time along with Sarah Grace.

Mail room with Grandma:

Julia dancing!!

Sarah Grace having LOTS to fun with the drum stick and bowl.

I'll post more tomorrow when the cold weather returns.

Beautiful Day

It was such a gorgeous day that I took the kids outside to the park and to play at school. They loved every minutes of it.

Caroline is so good at riding her bike without training wheels so she rode that while I pushed the double stroller with Sarah Grace and Julia. Sarah Grace thought that was a lot of fun to have her sister along.

Hard to believe, but Caroline has her first soccer practice tonight. I can't believe that it is starting already. She loves soccer and all the running around is good for her. We just have to figure out what Julia would really like. I'm thinking she is never going to be that interested in sports, but I could be wrong.

I'm ready for more of these 60 degree days. :)

I have to explain Julia's picture. On Tuesday I was going to be a fun Mom and take the big girls (Caroline and Julia) to go bowling. We had Sarah Grace in day care not to upset her schedule, but the girls are on spring break this week.
We got out of the van and were walking into the bowling ally and she tripped and fell flat on her face. Honestly, her face hit first. Her hands don't have a scratch on them, but her forehead must have been the first thing to hit and then her nose. She has a little scrape on her knee, but nothing like the big goose egg on her forehead. Thank goodness for bangs!
I took her into the bathroom to wash it all off and she just lost it the moment she saw the blood and how bad her face looked. Well, as you probably guessed we didn't stay to bowl. We were going to go today, but with the weather being so nice we stayed home and did the park instead.
I love you beautiful Julia!!

A Few Videos....

Sarah Grace talking and just happy as usual!! As you can see she really thinks it is fun to curl her tongue.

Yummy Grandma Weber! Sarah Grace loves to eat big girl food. Don't tell her she is a baby and should be eating baby food still. She loves real food and will turn away from cereal now.

Sanibel Island

Last week--April 4th to the 11th we were fortunate enough to spend on Sanibel Island off the coast of Florida. When I was a child we would spend a week there as a family each year. It has been 10 years or more since I'd been back. My parents rented a condo for us and one for them and my sister and family. It was such a wonderful time for everyone.

Caroline had a blast!

Julia had lots of fun!

And Sarah Grace was always smiling!

Thanks Mom & Dad

Where to begin?

I'm starting this blog as a journal for myself and to keep everyone updated on our crazy life.

There will be posts about Brian, Caroline, Julia, Sarah Grace and of course myself as we try to keep some calm in our household.

Enjoy!!
