Apple Pie

I was going to make Chicken Pot Pie the other day, but didn't get around to it. So, I had a pie crust in the fridge and thought I would make our favorite apple pie instead.

Here is Sarah Grace having her first taste of Mom's apple pie! She loved it!!

For those interested here is the recipe:

Apple Crunch Pie

1 Ready Folded Refrigerated Pie Crust

Crumb Topping
1 Cup Flour
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup Sugar
1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
1 Stick Margarine or Butter, cut into small pieces
Filling
7 Medium Tart Apples
1 Tbsp. Lemon Juice
1/2 Cup Sugar
3 Tbsp. Flour
1/2 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
1/8 tsp. Ground Nutmeg
1. Place oven racks in lowest position and heat to 450 degrees.
2. For topping, combine dry ingredients and cut in butter.
3. For filling, peel and slice applies, coat with lemon juice and toss with rest of ingredients.
4. Layer slices in pie shell. Pat topping evenly over apples to form a top crust.
5. Place pie on a cookie sheet. Bake 15 minutes. Lower temperature to 350 degrees and bake 45 minutes longer.
6. Cool completely before serving.
Note: If top begins to brown too fast, cover loosely with a piece of aluminum foil.
